Do you accept insurance?
Dr. Cosmetis is an In-Network provider with Cigna/Evernorth and HealthNet/MHN insurance plans. Thus, she will bill your insurance directly and you will only be responsible for your co-pay and deductible. If you have another type of insurance, Dr. Cosmetis is considered an Out-of-Network provider for PPO plans. In this case, you would pay Dr. Cosmetis for the session and be given a “superbill” at the end of the month to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If you plan to use your insurance, it is important to call your insurance provider to make sure you fully understand your benefits. In order to assist you in understanding your benefits, Dr. Cosmetis recommends that you ask your insurance provider the following questions:
- What are my plan’s mental health (or behavioral health) benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, has it been met yet?
- What is my copay?
- Is Dr. Deborah Cosmetis an In-Network or Out-of-Network provider?
- If Out-of-Network, does my plan cover Out-of-Network providers?
- Can I submit a monthly Superbill and be reimbursed directly?
What if I do not have insurance or prefer to pay out of pocket?
Dr. Cosmetis believes that mental health treatment should be affordable. To that end, she offers fair and reasonable fees that reflect her training and and experience. She also reserves a limited number of slots in her schedule for college students and other low-income clients. Please call for her current fee schedule.
Is therapy worth the investment?
Therapy is an investment in your overall well being. It is similar to taking a college class with “you” as the topic. All of the knowledge and insight you gain will continue to enhance the quality of your life throughout your life. It is not like shopping, getting a massage, or going out to a restaurant. While these activities feel good and are relaxing, those positive feelings are short-lived. You may also be spending money as a result of an unhealthy habit, such as alcohol, marijuana, gambling, or overeating. Again, the symptom relief you experience from these activities is transitory and may cause further problems in your life. Therapy, on the other hand, can help you cultivate greater insights and control so that you may live a healthy and fulfilling life.
