Q: Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I am contracted with Cigna/Evernorth and HealthNet/MHN insurances. Thus, I can bill them directly, and you will only be responsible for paying your copay and/or deductible.
If you have another type of insurance (i.e. a PPO plan), you may have "out-of-network" benefits that reimburse for psychotherapy with an "out-of-network" provider. I recommend calling your insurance to learn more about your benefits.
If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) through your employer, you can also pay for therapy through these funds.
Again, I recommend calling your insurance or for more details of your plan.
Q: Do you work with children or adolescents?
No, I do not work with children or adolescents. I do work with the full spectrum of adults, from young adults through retired older adults.
Q: Do you see clients in person or via telehealth (video session)?
I am currently seeing clients both in person and via telehealth. When possible, I prefer to meet in person, as this is the American Psychological Association (APA) preferred standard of care. I do offer telehealth sessions for clients with special circumstances, such as being immunocompromised and preferring not to meet in person, living outside of San Diego, not having reliable/affordable transportation, etc.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
Since your appointment is a reservation of time specifically for you, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required for rescheduling or cancelling an appointment. Otherwise, you will be responsible for paying the full amount of the missed session. Insurance companies do not cover fees for missed sessions; therefore you will be responsible for payment.
